This year Christmas Eve was spent at our house with the Wiemann Clan. Luckily Dani and Kevin were able to come home for the holiday and so the whole family was together. Eric and I (like always) made too much food and even though I swear next year will be simple I am sure it won't be. After we ate, Josh opened his presents because the little stinker decided to take a 30 minute afternoon nap and was dog tired by 6:30. I am certain he knows when we have something planned because he always sleeps like poo on those days.

After Josh was in bed the rest of the grandkids opened their presents and then finally the adults.

Before Emma went to bed she put out 2 cookies for Santa and 2 carrots for the reindeer on our special cookie and carrot plate. The rest of the family left shortly after and then Santa began his work wrapping Emma and Josh's presents, writing letters to them, and filling their stockings (stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas so I, I mean he went a bit overboard on them).

When Santa was done, Eric and I tried to stay up and watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince but by 11 we were both so tired we wimped out and crawled into bed. Josh awoke at his normal 6:20 time and Emma was soon to follow (my girl who used to sleep until 8 now is up at 6:30 because she hears her brother. One day both will sleep in right?) We had a good time opening presents together and Emma loved all the goodies in her stocking.

At 11, we went to mass together and around 4 we headed to Jack and Ginger's for the Hildwine Christmas. Emma was very excited to see her baby cousin Iyla and the new train set that Santa brought for all the kids (of course we took no pictures of it, but it is giant). Both Emma and Josh loved their gifts from their Ya-Ya and Poppy and though Emma's ended up not working and is headed back to Toys R Us she was still in good spirits.

We headed home after dinner, had baths, and both kids were in bed by 7:30. It was a draining two days but worth it, Emma hasn't stopped pushing her new stroller or putting her dolls to bed in their new crib since Christmas morning and well, Josh loves chewing on the wrapping paper every one of his presents came in!
